We were unable to get together for this year’s National IDeA Symposium of Biomedical Research Excellence. In response to requests from the community, we’re hosting a virtual meeting for investigators and program leaders supported by the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) program:
Tuesday, September 22, 2:00-5:30 p.m. ET
The objectives of the meeting are to:
- Introduce strategies and initiatives from NIH and NIGMS leaders in response to COVID-19
- Highlight scientific progress by IDeA investigators and trainees
- Answer questions from IDeA grantees
IDeA principal investigators (PIs) are encouraged to submit abstracts for short presentations highlighting their respective scientific progress. Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and include the name of the presenter and their role in the funded program (e.g., PI, research project leader, graduate student, etc.). Approximately eight COVID-related and eight non-COVID-related research abstracts will be selected, each for a 5-minute presentation. Postdoctoral fellows and students are welcome to log into the meeting at 3:45 p.m. to watch the presentations.
The abstracts are due by August 18 to Krishan Arora.
To participate, join the Zoom meeting using the information below. A recording and all the abstracts received will be available on the IDeA webpage following the event.
