We’ve released a new notice of special interest (NOSI) NOT-GM-24-039: Topics for Training Modules for Enhancing Biomedical Research Workforce Training (R25). The NOSI, associated with the notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) PAR-24-040, requests applications to develop biomedical research training modules on one of the following topics:
- Improving mentorship experiences
- Improving trainee and employee mental health and well-being
- Addressing equity in the biomedical research enterprise
- Promoting laboratory safety in research environments
- Strengthening rigor, reproducibility, and transparency of biomedical research techniques
- Enhancing program evaluation capacity
First application receipt date: January 28, 2025
Earliest start date: December 2025
The proposed modules should assess the current training needs of the intended audience, fill a gap in the existing educational resources, and ensure the content is relevant and broadly useful to biomedical researchers. Modules can take many different formats and approaches and should be timely, informative, engaging, easily accessible, and free to the biomedical research training community. Because of the complex nature of the topics, we highly encourage at least one subject matter expert to be part of the investigator and development and dissemination teams.
Potential applicants must follow all instructions in the SF424 (R&R) Application Guide as well as the NOFO-specific instructions in PAR-24-040 and be responsive to one of the topics listed in NOT-GM-24-039. Please note only one NOSI topic may be addressed per application.
