I do research in a minority institution whose minority status is revoked. The facilities of research and financial support is almost nil.
We get some grant support from $7,500-15,000 for year to two years. Having nobody to work in the lab, research observation never succeeds.
Working in the molecular biology to investigate the significance of promoter SNP significance becomes almost impossible with the meagre support.
We do have a graduate program. If I can get a grant for supporting the graduate research that would help to advance my research and probably get other NIH grant support.
The Bridges programs are institutional training grants intended to help students transition from community college to baccalaureate degree-granting institutions, and from master’s to Ph.D. programs. You’re welcome to join our informational webinar to learn more about the Bridges programs. Login information is in the post above. You may also want to look at https://www.nigms.nih.gov/training/Pages/Postbaccalaureate-and-Graduate-Students-Programs.aspx for other ways to support graduate students.
